It’s been a minute since I’ve posted anything outfit-related. Mostly because I haven’t been having too many dressy days thanks to the weather and having been living in outfits like the one you’ll see in this post. Keep reading to see more photos of this look (special thanks to Justin Partain for my photos) and shopping ideas inspired by the pieces I’m wearing!
Winter has been a little bit of a let-down here in Virginia. With the random warm weather days, harsh frigid days and messy slushy days, we haven’t been given the luxury of a blissful snowy day or at the least, a consistently chilly winter. Thanks to this, I have been spending most of my days in fleece-lined tights and my collection of oversized flannel shirts (hint: I’ve been shopping in the men’s section and in B’s closet from time to time). Cozy and comfortable has been my look of the day almost every day and as much as I felt awesome wearing all of these, I am only going to post this look once as not too bombard you with my lady lumberjack look I’ve adopted these cold months.
On this day, with the sun out, the parka wasn’t necessary and I was thrilled to be able to wear my Penfield Rockwool vest! The Australian sheepskin collar is exactly the same as what you find inside a pair of UGG boots… super soft and super warm, and the puffy down body provides the perfect amount of fluff and insulation to keep your core warm. Oh and I can’t forget the super soft fleece lined pockets. The tan leather on the shoulders adds a bit of a vintage 70s camper feel that I love!
For everyone who has or regularly visits my blog, you’ll know that The Frye Company has a very special place in my heart (and in my closet). They can be on the pricey side and but they’re definitely worth investing in if you’re looking for timeless boots made with high quality materials and are built to last. I swear my Frye Engineer boots will outlive me! This pair is the Dakota Wedge Boot. I cannot stress how comfortable and warm these babies are. I spent all of Thanksgiving weekend in NYC walking all over the city wearing these and they felt great and kept my toes warm even well into the night.

Below are some shopping ideas inspired by this look, not that it will take much inspiration or real effort to put this together, since I’m sure everyone should have something similar in their closets… but if you were interested… enjoy!
What have been your winter weather staples?
