These past few days I’ve been running errands like crazy and stacked with work projects left and right. On busier days I generally like to make selecting an outfit a little easier. A dress is always a great way to take a lot out of the styling process. Knocking out both top and bottom all in a single piece makes all the difference when you’re pressed for time and or energy. The best thing to grab out of your closet when you’re in a rush is an outfit that requires the least amount of pieces. Less moving parts, the quicker you can be out the door. Rompers, dresses, jumpsuits, they’re all great solutions for looking put together but in half the time! Today was definitely a ‘grab a dress’ kinda day.
To add a little bit of fun to the already busy printed dress, I threw on a rhinestone belt that had similar colours in it. I figured, why not.
Like I do with some of my skirts when I’m planning on wearing them to the office (like this outfit here) I like to add my tutu skirt underneath to add just about an inch more of extra length at the bottom. Not that this dress is super super short but a little bit closer to the knees is usually a safe bet when dressing for work.
To brighten up my outfit a little more, I went with my pink Guess bow pumps rather than the usual black pumps to keep with the floral colours as well as with the season.
Thanks to the chilly office I work in, a sweater was originally in my sights but at the last minute before completing my look, I went with my trusty denim jacket.
Lately I have been a bit lazy about my hair and haven’t been straightening it. Now that its at a more manageable length for my semi-wild curly hair, I’ve been leaving it natural almost every day and for the first time in years, I’ve really embraced my curls rather than fight them.
Humidity is the worst for us curly-haired gals, and I’ve been asked several times what I’ve been doing and using to keep my mane under control. My hair gets super frizzy when not taken care of during the balmier days. Honestly, I’ve learned that less is more when it comes to my hair.
A lot of girls love to overload on product to keep their hair tamed but over time I’ve found that to be counter productive. The more products I throw into my hair, the more compelled I am to wash and double shampoo it which is never good for curls. Instead, I make sure I use a really good, heavier conditioner in the shower and afterwards, while still damp, I apply a mixture of argan oil and leave-in conditioner and just let it air dry or if I need to, just blow dry with a diffuser. Super easy. It keeps my curls under control and healthy at the same time.
Here’s a full list of what I’m wearing:

- Rhinestone Belt – Anthropologie
