Happy Monday everyone!!! This is my first week without my wrist brace and I’m super happy that its finally feeling closer to normal. I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend and have started your week off on the right foot. Keep reading to see more of today’s look and at the end of this post is a collection of shopping ideas inspired by this outfit <3
I’ve spent a lot of time in and out of offices, working from home, working from coffee shops and so on. My current contract requires me to be in an office all day and well… tech company offices = air conditioning on blast and chilly toes. So as much as I’ve been loving the summer weather, I’ve been having to find ways to incorporate layers to keep me from freezing in the office yet still be able to take a layer or two off and be seasonally appropriate.
After spending the weekend in shorts, Monday morning’s ‘standing in front of the closet and figuring out what to wear’ session wasn’t what I was looking forward to, but whatever, ‘challenge accepted’ as I always say in these times.
I started off with a plain white button up shirt from H&M. I love their button up shirts. They’re affordable, come in plenty of colours and are typically consistent in their cuts and sizing, that and I found that they fit my narrow shoulders.
Layered on top is my army green military jacket with the sleeves cuffed up and my beloved harness belt looped through the shoulder tabs and wrapped around the waist with the jacket folded so it appeared to have lapels for more of an ‘office’ rather than ‘casual’ look.
My DIY’ed paisley skirt made from an H&M dress was the next thing I grabbed. Its already a great circle skirt but I decided to add my American Apparel tutu skirt underneath to add some volume, movement and about an inch of extra length at the bottom.
As for shoes. Originally I had planned to wear some black ankle boots but for some reason I leaned towards my pink and gold Guess bow pumps on my shelf. I figure, I’m already wearing a bunch of different colours, what’s another one on the list! Plus they’re super comfortable!
As for accessories, I’m never without an oversized watch. Here I’ve got my dual tone oversized watch by Michael Kors.
🙂
I feel like open collared shirts should always have a good necklace paired with them. To fix this little problem I threw on my turkish coin necklace and completed my look with a side ponytail.
