I love winter but I can’t express how excited I was once the weather started warming up and Spring was here! For me, Spring and Summer mean floaty fabrics and dresses! Keep reading to check out more photos of this outfit and shopping ideas inspired by this look!
For a while now I’ve been in love with maxi dresses. They’re both dressy and casual, they can be a whole outfit in one, and well they’re just so darn comfortable! I’m only 5’1″ and I know some girls worry about maxi dresses making them look short. At first I had the same concern… clearly that concern went away pretty quick. Maxi dresses can elongate your body if cut at just the right length and add the perfect touch of girlieness to your look.
Here’s what I’m wearing:
- Denim Vest (Levi’s Jacket with sleeves cut off)
- Ladybug Pendant Necklace (Tiffany & Co)
- Floral Sheer Maxi Dress (Jessica Simpson/TJMaxx)
- Brown Strappy Espadrille Wedges (Mossimo/Target)
- Oversized Dual Tone Watch (Michael Kors)
Overall, this outfit was a complete bargain find! These wedges are insanely comfortable and go well with pretty much most of my summer attire. I found these at Target a few seasons ago and I’m so glad I picked them up in brown even though at the time I was really leaning towards getting them in black.
The half slit on this dress really makes it super easy to walk in. This fabric isn’t stretchy but its super floaty and breathable. It falls perfectly and doesn’t seem to crease.
The dress is also two layers which you can see here. There’s a shorter white slip dress underneath that covers you up but still gives the dress its overall sheer look. Also this denim vest (my current spring favourite) actually used to be a denim jacket. I cut off the sleeves in hopes that I would wear it more and despite my nervousness and doubts right before making that first snip… it was totally worth it!
