So here’s what I wore to the Brands and Bloggers event on Saturday! Keep reading to check out some photos and a better closeup of my beloved Betsey Johnson T-strap heels <3
Unfortunately I didn’t take many photos of my outfit. Lugging around my camera was not in the cards for me that evening with already carrying my massive spiked evening bag and needing my hands free, but thankfully there are a few photos I found thanks to the Brands and Bloggers photographers 🙂
So these shoes were actually purchased completely separate from this dress… in fact… I purchased this dress at Forever 21 in their Love section many many years ago (I think maybe 5/6 years ago which is amazing that it still has retained a place in my closet after so long), and these Betsey Johnson shoes, purchased years after but still years ago back when Betsey Johnson had a boutique in Georgetown. It just happened to be that the shoes and the dress matched almost perfectly… what luck!
After getting receiving my invite and ticket to the Brands and Bloggers event, I immediately began flipping through everything I had in my closet, looking at countless stores online and hoping I would figure out what exactly to wear… and there it was… that dress I bought years ago and only wore once before… maybe??? Then my eyes darted over to the shoes… YES! See, when I purchased and wore the floral and black dress last, these standout Betsey Johnson heels weren’t in my possession (yet)… so perfect opportunity to get matchy matchy and throw them together… and it worked!
My outfit consisted of a bunch of things I already had in my closet which was great. I didn’t purchase a single new thing for the event but still felt like I usually do when I put on a brand new outfit. The outfit in its entirety consisted of:
- Black 3/4 sleeved trench coat from Old Navy
- Black 3/4 sleeved crop top from Forever 21
- Black and Floral Love 21 dress
- Black harness Belt from BCBG Max Azria
- Studded spiked evening bag (made by yours truly!)
- Betsey Johnson Suede and Lace T-Strap pumps with skulls with bows studs
Sometimes stuff in your closet just needs a little love… before you feel the need to go shopping for an event, see how you can mix, match and pair things you already own to make them feel new again! What pieces are you bringing back from the depths of your closet?
Also keep scrolling to check out some photos from the event <3 Also at the very end of this post you’ll find shopping ideas inspired by this outfit!

Candid photo of me checking up on my pup back home haha Apparently Presley went into ‘DePresley mode’ and was refusing to eat his kibble and spent the day sleeping on my pillow while I was gone. 🙁
I feel like my head looks huge in this photo but here’s my official portrait of the evening. I kinda wish it was a full body photo and not just a bust so that I could show you another picture of the entire ensemble.
My spiked ball purse was passed around a few times that evening. I was like a proud parent for a portion of the night answering a bunch of questions on it haha. The lovely lady on the right, holding my purse is Mary of Gla.Mar.Ous . She is the designer behind the cute headband I’m wearing in the next photo:
Check out her site! She’s got a lot of super cute headbands that are patented headache free! Her Pink line is super cute too, which I’m planning on checking out myself as well <3
I think the most surprising thing was the weight of the purse. In the middle is Shez, owner of Shop Deen. An online boutique featuring lots of cute, girly clothes and accessories made by her designer friends, you can even find Gla.Mar.Ous’ items in her store as well. If you look closely, the jeweled headband she’s wearing is also by Gla.Mar.Ous, from her Pink line. The girl on the right, holding my purse is Shez’ sister. Check out their shop for some super cute stuff!
Here are the awesome ladies of the evening who were responsible for getting such a wonderful group of bloggers and brands together, as well as being writers of their own fantastic blogs. On the left, Sherry Blossom of Sherry Blossom Beauty and Monroe Steele of FashionSteelNYC . I had been tweeting back and forth with these two ladies before the event and I can’t express how lovely it was meeting them finally in person. Thanks for throwing such a stellar event ladies!
Here’s a photo of me during the Brand raffle. I picked out Erica of QuÉRICA ‘s card out of the bowl and am very much looking forward to our Brand/Blog collaboration where I’ll be doing a review of one of her products! Check her out… she’s an awesome jewelry designer and such a sweetheart!
Here’s a photo of Sherry, Monroe, Myself and Érica after the drawing! All these ladies had such a positive energy radiating from them, we were all smiles the entire evening 🙂
Typical of Tasha of The Glossier and I… posting photos on instagram and twitter hehe
And lastly, the super cute giftbags courtesy of the brand sponsors of the event.
I had the greatest time. Everyone I met was so much fun and I hope to see everyone again <3
