An exciting thing happened last month! I received an email from Kim Waeber, one half of the sister duo that created Kidogo Kidogo about their product and the wonderful work they’re doing to help women in Tanzania. Keep reading to learn more about Kidogo Kidogo, this beautiful snap-on phone case and how you can get involved!
What is Kidogo Kidogo?
Kidogo Kidogo translates to ‘Little by Little’ in Swahili. Kim and Kristen Waeber created Kidogo Kidogo with ‘the aim of lifting the financial barrier preventing women in Tanzania from having access to life-changing cellular phones’.
In Tanzania, only 36% of women have access to mobile phones and the largest reason preventing these ladies from ownership is the initial cost of the actual handset.
Think about how often you depend on your phone, I know I’m on mine all the time, and not just for phone calls and text messages. Providing phones to these women allows them so much more than simply communicating with friends and family, but also provides other resources such as a flashlight, calculator, watch, camera, and a method of staying connected to the world around them and in the know of events.
How does it work?

How Can I Get Involved and Buy a Case?
The cases are absolutely adorable and well-made. The illustrations are beautiful, the texture of the case is soft to the touch, it snaps on with ease and is super slim!
The case I received is the Up and Away model for my iPhone 5s. It barely adds any extra thickness to my phone, protects it from daily use and its super cute in person. To purchase one for yourself (and or for a friend) click HERE !
The illustrations are by Sarah Markes (www.sarahmarkes.com) and it doesn’t just end there! A portion of the sales of the Sea Turtle iphone cases goes to Sea Sense (www.seasense.org) which works closely with the coastal communities in Tanzania to conserve and protect endangered marine species including sea turtles, dugongs, whales, dolphins and whale sharks.
Mother’s day is around the corner as well! Please check out Kidogo Kidogo, learn more about their wonderful mission and share it with your friends, get involved. I know I’ll be ordering a shirt to continue my support of such a wonderful cause 🙂
Thank you Kim for reaching out to me and telling me all about your and your sister’s mission, warm-hearted and hard-working efforts!
xoxo
