So apparently the weather decided to make a quick u-turn back to winter. A lot of us here in the DC area aren’t impressed with mother nature’s failure to make a solid decision on spring. It was just 80 degrees out a few days before… the sudden drop in temperature was not at all welcomed and unfortunately, the only thing we could all do was either stay indoors or bring out some sweaters and jackets for what we’re all hoping is the last time for a while. Keep reading to check out more shots of this outfit and some pieces to create a similar look 🙂
I really love winter weather for the following reasons:
- Snow
- The smell of crisp air
- Layers
- Coats and Jackets
- Boots
- and that it falls between late November and some time in March
It’s definitely April… mid-April to be exact and well… with the warm weather teasers we’ve been having, I’m pretty much over the chilly weather and ready for sunny warm days.
Since there’s nothing I can do about the weather, back to my outfit post. I recently did some serious spring cleaning and put away all of my winter coats and chunky sweaters. Luckily I still have several leather jackets still in my closet and a handful of light sweaters.
To start off, I found my gray mustache sweatshirt (Found this at Old Navy in the boys’ section haha) in my closet… I always feel like something’s missing when I don’t have some sort of accessory on but it was a little too chilly for me to wear a massive statement necklace so I opted for this Brandy Melville embellished collared shirt (gifted to me by my sister) to layer underneath. I threw on my burgendy H&M skinny trousers and went from there.
Here’s a closeup of the detailing of the jacket. 🙂 The jacket I’m wearing is my beloved smoke gray leather All Saints Military Brocade jacket. I bought this a few years ago and love it just as much as I did the day I laid eyes on it. I wish they had it in my size in black but unfortunately all the black leather versions of this jacket were all sold out and there were only large sizes leftover. I’m not at all disappointed in the gray though. Its a good break from my usual black leather jackets. Its super buttery soft, has amazing detailing and my favourite part… the coat tails!
Lastly, here are the shoes I paired with my outfit. I purchased these from All Saints also. These are the Bonny Harness ankle boots in black leather. They’re pretty amazing. I haven’t completely broken them in yet and I know that it’s going to be a while before I do so. The leather is pretty tough and these are just so well made. The heel height is perfect for every day use and the harness is removable. In the collage below, you’ll see that I found a great Steve Madden dupe for these that look very similar but for a fraction of what I paid for these… if I were you I’d definitely scoop up a pair!
