Keeping up with doing outfit posts, here’s a fun outfit I pulled out of my closet and did a little diy’ing to put together! Attempting to add more colour into my daily routine, I was quite pleased with the brights. Keep reading to see what pieces I’m wearing and a list of similar finds to recreate this look!
So here’s the full look. From top to bottom:
I have been in love with these turkish coin necklaces. I found two at Forever 21, one in antique gold and one in silver. I was able to finally wear the antique gold one today, so I was pretty excited about that. The yellow coat is a double breasted, snap buttoned felt coat I’ve had in my closet for quite some time and received as a gift a few years back. I hardly wear it and thanks to that, it’s lasted through the years. I absolutely love the puffy sleeves and the giant matching yellow buttons, its just one of those coats though that is not warm enough for cold weather and too warm for warmer days… thankfully during this spring-time transition, its perfect for the cooler evenings.
I’m always trying to find a way to make every outfit I walk out of the house in, comfortable… so of course, I had to pair everything with a plain white t-shirt. I understand the reasoning behind some individuals’ purchases of expensive gauze-like, burnout, worn in plain white tees, but call me a simple shopper, I still love my plain Hanes t-shirts and boyfriend tees from Target 😀
This wonderful belt is one of my accessories I’ve been dying to wear out since I bought it. I had to do minor alterations since it was slightly loose on me but afterwards, I couldn’t be happier. This belt was purchased from my beautiful friend’s vintage store The Nebula Shop <3 Definitely check The Nebula Shop for some cute vintage finds!!
The paisley skirt was the centerpiece of my outfit. Funny thing is I purchased this piece as a dress from H&M about 2 years ago. Originally I had planned to wear it to an outdoor wedding but ended up going with something else. Fast forward a year after the purchase, I finally wore the dress to dinner with Brendan’s parents. It was a great ‘meet the parents’ dress to wear… unfortunately, after washing it, there was a tear in the sleeve that couldn’t be repaired. Brokenhearted, I couldn’t throw the dress away, so I kept it in my closet this entire time. Almost a year later (now), I decided it was time to pull it out of my closet and do something about it. I took some scissors, needle and thread and cut off the top half, added some elastic to the waist, repaired the zipper since it originally zipped all the way up the back of the dress, and voila! Now I have a beautiful paisley skirt!
Paired with my outfit are a pair of fringe ankle boots I purchased last year, my dual toned Michael Kors watch my parents gave me for my 30th birthday and my tried and true deep turquoise Marc Jacobs leather purse. And look who came to join in on my photos!
Of course Presley had to come in and steal the show in typical pug fashion. He loves being part of everything…
…and I wouldn’t have it any other way <3 Below I’ve put together a list of similar pieces to recreate this look!
