It’s so silly but I love love love getting packages in the mail, even though I know they’re things that I’ve ordered myself and clearly they’re of no surprise. Recently I ordered a few things on Amazon.com that made my day upon their arrival.Ok, first things first… the Hello Kitty Mug:
Before I moved in with Brendan, I had an excess of mugs in my kitchen. Thanks to neither of us having space to house ALL of our dinnerware and glassware, some stuff has made its way into storage. Unfortunately, I forgot to at least unpack a mug or two for myself. Aside from the work mugs I had, a travel mug that I purchased soon after moving in thanks to my last one leaking, and the pug mugs I found randomly at various stores (one was clearly too big that nothing stayed warm long enough in it and the other, well the other is perfect but I wanted a second every day mug in my rotation haha)… I wanted another mug that was my own. Ok Ok it sounds like I have several. I do now but trust me in the beginning I had none and once I started my own little collection it was like none of them were ‘just right’. Anywho, I saw this mug and thought… YES I MUST GIVE SANRIO MY MONIES AND ORDER THAT MUG! So I did, and here it is! It’s larger than a standard mug, but super comfortable to hold, especially with its blown out round center, keeps drinks warm and looks too cute for words. Everyone that knows me, knows that I love cutesy things, ESPECIALLY hello kitty 🙂 You can find this mug HERE (It’s only $9.96 and is Prime eligible).
Onto the next item on the list, the Phiaton Noise Canceling Earphones.:
First off, these earphones are not equipped with a mic so they cannot be used for phone calls. This is kind of a turn-off for me but I bought these because they were part of the amazon deal of the day section and I thought to myself, for the price (I got these for only $17) they couldn’t hurt. That and I needed a pair of noise canceling anything for travel/work purposes. I still plan on buying an over-the-ear set of headphones (when I commit to a pair i really really like) but these will most definitely do for now.
The sound quality is pretty good, the noise-canceling, not bad but not the best I’ve tried. They do come with several earbud sizes that you can switch out for the perfect fit. The design is great in that they anchor themselves in your ear well enough they won’t easily fall out once they’re in place correctly. They also come with an airplane jack adaptor for those times you want to listen to something on a plane that still has those weird dual pronged socket thingies (??) and they also come with a cute little black suede-like case that they can be neatly tucked into when not in use.
They ARE active noise canceling so they do require the use of a battery (AAA) but I would imagine they wouldn’t burn through batteries too too quickly. Another neat little feature is the conversation button. There’s a button located on the battery pack that when pressed will deactivate the active noise canceling and lower the volume of what you’re listening to so that you can hear outside noises and conversation. Once the button is released, it resumes back to the original volume and turns the noise canceling back on. Convenient for those times someone tries to tell you something or you hear announcements in the airport or airplane, keeps you from having to pull an ear bud out to listen, turn down the volume or pause your music.
For the price, they’re great. I wouldn’t have purchased them at their retail price of $129, as I would have preferred purchasing something with a phone mic and would much prefer something with better active noise canceling and most likely an over-the-ear pair but at $17 they were a steal. You can get a pair for yourself on amazon.com HERE for $39.99 Prime eligible, which is still a great price for what these offer.
And for my last item in my package, The Oatmeal’s My Dog: The Paradox book:
Excuse the somewhat crooked photo. The Oatmeal is one of my favourite online comics. This comic featured in this book is actually posted on The Oatmeal’s website HERE but to view the entire comic in full colour, you’ve gotta get the book… you can purchase it HERE on amazon.com for $5.64
I picked this up not only because I love The Oatmeal’s comics and sense of humor but I couldn’t help but think… the dog in this book… its practically Presley! I’d say about 99% accurate. Too funny, Too cute, Too Oatmeal. I definitely recommend this as a great gift for dog lovers or simply a fun coffee table book to add to your home.
And that’s all for now 🙂 Stay tuned for more random purchases in packages 🙂
