For all my friends that like/love/enjoy horror movies and more specifically, zombie movies, I highly recommend this one. Keep reading to learn a little more about this movie…Without giving it all away and spoiling the movie for you…
Pontypool was released in 2008. It’s a psychological horror movie so its not your typical hack and slasher type and actually requires you to think, which may make this easily dismissible by some. Its a clever take on zombies/infected which I haven’t seen used in any other movie. The best part is the fact that the movie takes place in an enclosed environment which calls for solid acting and great dialogue.
I enjoyed that it was simple, well done and engaging. It still follows certain traditional horror/zombie movie trends but in its own way. Ahhh, its so hard to talk about this without completely giving it away.
If you’re into dialogue-heavy/driven movies and scary movies combined, this might be of interest to you. Its not campy or weirdly over the top despite what is happening to the infected people in the movie. For those of you who don’t like creepy stuff, serious tones and the eerie lack of a score, this might not be for you. Otherwise, to everyone else interested, definitely something to add to the watch-list.
Enjoy!
